Is is safe to rent from owners over the Internet?
Yes, if you do your due diligence. Look at the pictures of the vacation rentals you consider and ask owners any questions you have. You can ask for a document or bill that shows the ownership of the vacation condo or home. Ask if the owner has an ad on paid listing websites such as VRBO.com or HomeAway.com and check the reviews. Most owners do everything they can to upgrade and upkeep their condos and homes, they also pay for advertising. It’s in their best interests that the guests are happy, that they return year after year and refer their friends and colleagues.
